During the summer going to a baseball game is such an American tradition. That must be why baseball is called the national pastime. I had a business trip scheduled to Atlanta in early August which just happened to coincide with the Dodgers playing the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta. I called my friends Heather and Cindy and we went to the game Friday night. It was a typical Atlanta summer night - hot, muggy and scattered rain drops. We arrived at Turner Park early and were surprised to find out it was T-shirt night - free Braves T-shirts to the first 10,000. Lucky us! When it started to rain just before the game started we were glad that we were in the covered seats - no umbrellas needed; no running to get out of the rain. The game was slow - a no hitter through 3 innings. I had to suffer through a number of Brave "chops" but fortunately the Dodgers defense held. Then the Dodgers scored 3 runs which turned out to be the winning runs. The final score was Dodgers 5, Braves 0. Whoo-hoo! Go LA! We also enjoyed a beautiful night as the storm clouds blew through and were colored by a beautiful sunset.
