Family Feud

I have grown up with a gentle Family Feud raging between my parents. Mom's parents are from Germany, Dad's father's side of the family hails from Denmark. The feud has been which is better Germany or Denmark? Fortunately for us, this cruise goes to both countries. After our day in Germany, we travelled to Arhus, Denmark the second largest city in the country - who knew? Our tour didn't start until 1:00 so we went into town early to wander around on our own and hopefully do some shopping. The town center is a quaint old town with beautiful old buildings dating back to the early 1100s. Being that we visited the town on Sunday most of the stores are closed, other than the bakeries and coffee houses. An interesting practice since the Danes claim not to be religious people. Our tour took us through parts of the city we missed on our own meanderings - the Queen's summer palace, the University, the "modern" city square and Den Gamle By, an open air museum of what it was to live and work in the days of H. C. Andersen. We had a great day, both weather-wise and tour-wise.
